Foreign Minister Cho Hyun will visit flood-stricken Nepal this weekend, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said Saturday.
Cho will travel to Nepal from Saturday through Monday, where he will hold bilateral talks with Nepali Foreign Minister Sishir Khanal.
During the talks, Cho is expected to ask Nepal to support search operations to locate missing South Korean nationals.
Cho had already raised the issue in phone calls with Khanal on Aug. 27 and Aug. 31, requesting intensive searches in areas where South Koreans are believed to have gone missing.
Cho is also scheduled to meet with families of the missing Koreans staying in Nepal and with representatives of South Korean companies operating there. He will also visit members of the Korea Disaster Relief Team currently working in the country.
