Daesang Group announced Friday that it donated 333 blood donation certificates collected through its "2026 Daesang Red Challenge" campaign, along with 1,000 "Respect Boxes" of food products for pediatric cancer patients, to the Korea Leukemia Children's Foundation.
The Daesang Red Challenge is an annual blood donation campaign run in partnership with the Korean Red Cross Blood Services during the summer months, when blood supplies tend to run low. Launched in 2006, the campaign marked its 20th edition this year, with cumulative participation reaching 5,738 company employees and 39,424 members of the public.
This year's campaign adopted the slogan "RESPECT YOUR RED!" to honor blood donors. The company also expanded the program to include non-donors and employees at regional offices, offering a range of activities for broader participation.
New initiatives this year included making "Hickman pouches" for pediatric cancer patients, writing letters of encouragement, and a matching grant program under which Daesang donated a Respect Box — filled with its own food products — for each participant. The boxes contained items from the Chungjungone brand, including "Woori Farm Aisarang," anchovy cup rice noodles and pure rice nurungji, as well as Jongga-brand kimchi and stir-fried kimchi, chosen for their convenience for patients and their families.
"We are deeply grateful that, through the Daesang Red Challenge — which has continued for 20 years thanks to the participation of our employees and the public — we were once again able to deliver blood donation certificates where they are needed most," said Kim Gyeong-suk, head of Daesang's ESG management division.
