Up to 30 small marts, supermarkets accepted on first-come basis

Siheung city is accepting applications from stores wishing to participate in the second Neighborhood Supermarket Joint Sale Event, scheduled to run for seven days from Sept. 18 to Sept. 24, building on the strong public response to the first edition held in June.

The event is hosted by Siheung city and organized by the Siheung Industry Promotion Agency in cooperation with the Siheung Small and Medium Retail Joint Wholesale Logistics Center. By pooling purchases to cut retail costs and passing the savings on to consumers, the initiative aims to ease the financial burden on participating stores, boost their sales, and give residents a chance to buy daily necessities at lower prices — all in support of revitalizing neighborhood commercial districts.

Up to 30 small marts and supermarkets in Siheung are eligible to apply on a first-come, first-served basis. Selected stores will receive promotional materials including banners and marketing items for the event.

Interested stores may apply in person at the Siheung Industry Promotion Agency's Commercial District Revitalization Center (Room 3042, 49 Eungye Hosu-ro, Siheung) or by email. However, entertainment establishments, franchise businesses and hypermarkets are excluded from eligibility.

"Encouraged by the response citizens showed to the first event, we organized this second edition," a city official said. "We hope this event will again serve as an opportunity for local small business owners and residents to thrive together."

For further details on the application process, interested parties may contact the Siheung Industry Promotion Agency's Commercial District Revitalization Center or the Siheung Small and Medium Retail Joint Wholesale Logistics Center.
