Works by Verner Panton and Daido Moriyama to be displayed on flagship facade

Lotte Department Store said it will hold "The Conran Shop Space Project," a roughly month-long design and art experience in collaboration with The Conran Shop, beginning Friday.

Through Sept. 17, the flagship store's exterior will be transformed with works by renowned designer Verner Panton. On Oct. 16, the store will host a talk session featuring Panton's daughter, Karin Panton. From Sept. 18 through Oct. 2, large-scale prints of signature works by leading Japanese photographer Daido Moriyama will be displayed across the facade.

The project brings art out of the gallery and into the city, letting visitors experience the works in a new way as they blend with the urban streetscape. A pop-up spanning 330 square meters will also open on the first-floor Pop-up Avenue of the flagship store.

"Verner Panton and Daido Moriyama differ in their modes of expression, but share the quality of having created their own visual language beyond conventional grammar," said Choi Yun-seok, head of the content division at Lotte Department Store. "We hope visitors will experience the worlds of these two masters unfolding in the heart of the city."
