Heo Jae, known as the "president of basketball," left the studio in stunned silence after confessing that he had long believed his wife was subordinate to him.
The episode of MBN's talk show "Sokpuriso Dongchimi" that aired Saturday centered on the theme "You need a real lesson."
Heo said the words he hears most from his wife these days are scoldings to try doing things on his own.
He added that his wife had filed their marriage registration alone, without him. "I lived thinking I was the king and my wife was beneath me, but lately I've been painfully realizing that was wrong," he said. "These days the nagging I hear most is to wash my hands." The revelation left the cast speechless.
Cast member Lee Hyeon-i shot back, "You have to wash up — that's what I say to my son. Don't you think it's time to change?" Heo replied, "I'm stubborn too. You have to understand that some people just can't be taught, no matter how hard you try."
Heo also admitted he has never once ridden the subway. "If someone told me to take the subway, I'd just give up going altogether," he said. "I wouldn't go even if the president called. I'd only get on during a war."
