A suspected carbon monoxide leak at an ice rink inside the Gwacheon Civic Center in Gwacheon, Gyeonggi Province, forced more than 140 people to evacuate Sunday.

The leak was reported at around 1:33 p.m. at the ice rink on the second below-ground floor of the civic center, according to Newsis.

Fire department officials said they responded after receiving a report that a student had collapsed complaining of a gas smell. A teenage girl was transported to a nearby hospital.

Authorities evacuated about 100 ice rink users, bringing the total number of people cleared from the building to roughly 140.

The fire department ventilated the entire building and is investigating the type and concentration of the leaked gas.
