Atletico Madrid's Lee Kang-in recorded his first assist of the season Sunday, helping the Spanish club extend its unbeaten run to three matches.

Lee started in Atletico's 2026-27 La Liga Round 3 away fixture against Sevilla at Estadio Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan in Seville, setting up Alex Baena's opening goal in the fourth minute to break the deadlock.

Driving down the right flank, Lee threaded a precise pass into the penalty area, and Baena calmly finished with his right foot. It was Lee's first attacking contribution of the season.

Lee joined Atletico from Paris Saint-Germain ahead of this season, donning the No. 7 shirt and returning to La Liga for the first time in four seasons. He came off the bench to score in the Round 1 match against Malaga on Aug. 20, making an immediate impression. He then earned his first start of the season in the Round 2 clash against Villarreal on Monday, playing until the 67th minute without adding to his tally. Starting again against Sevilla, he played until the 72nd minute and registered his second attacking contribution of the season.

Atletico defeated Sevilla 3-1, extending their unbeaten league run to three matches — two wins and a draw — to move top of La Liga with seven points. Sevilla, who had won their opening two matches, suffered their first defeat of the season and dropped to fifth with six points.

After Lee and Baena combined for the opener, Ademola Lookman doubled the lead in the 26th minute. Baena then struck from distance in the 33rd minute to make it 3-0, effectively settling the contest. Six minutes into the second half, a move orchestrated by Lee ended with Lookman finding the net, but the goal was ruled out for offside. Atletico conceded a consolation goal to Miguel Sierra in the 66th minute but held on comfortably for all three points.

Meanwhile, Lee recorded 44 touches and a pass completion rate of 94 percent — 30 of 32 attempts — according to football statistics outlet Fotmob. Fotmob gave Lee a rating of 8.0, the fifth-highest on the team, while Baena, who scored twice, received a match-high 9.1 from both sides combined.
