Mapo-gu District Mayor Yoo Dong-kyun attended the 5th Inclusive Children's Play Culture Festival "Mapo Sinbi Noliteo," an integrated children's play festival, held Saturday afternoon at the Mapo 365 Community Center.
The event is an inclusive play culture festival in which children participate as active agents regardless of disability status or multicultural background. The Mapo Children's Welfare Center and the Mapo Sinbi Noliteo planning committee jointly organized it, with 18 child welfare, sports and community organizations across Mapo-gu cooperating in its staging.
District Mayor Yoo attended from 2 p.m., watching a range of performances — including a children's rights promotion performance, a concert by the Mallang Mallang Family Choir and a cheerleading show. He also visited all 12 hands-on activity booths set up across play, sports and experience zones, taking part in the activities himself and speaking with children and parents to hear their thoughts firsthand.
"Children naturally learn to care for others and understand differences as they play together with friends," Yoo said. "I hope today is a happy time when children can mix freely and smile brightly, free from any prejudice."
