Singer Baek Ji-young has shared the story behind her recently viral "recycling outfit" look.
A video titled "The reason Baek Ji-young's eyes rolled back after eating jjamppong made by Jeong Seok-won for the first time in her life" was posted Saturday on Baek's YouTube channel.
In the video, a producer brought up how Baek had caused a stir by showing up to a rehearsal dressed as if she were taking out the recycling. Baek admitted the outfit was in fact her sleepwear. "That's actually what I wear at home — I sleep in it too," she said.
She added that she had not expected so many people to be at the rehearsal that day. "I went with zero makeup and a clip in my hair," she said.
Her husband, Jeong Seok-won, came to her defense. "That's just how you do it — you give it your all," he said. Baek explained that she takes rehearsals seriously by design. "I have to rehearse really hard. That's how I can check my own condition," she said.
A producer marveled that she had actually looked more commanding in casual clothes than in a stage costume, and Jeong agreed. "Exactly — she looked even cooler," he said.
Meanwhile, Baek is now in her 27th year since her debut. She married actor Jeong Seok-won in 2013; he is nine years her junior. The couple have a daughter together.
