Sono International, part of the Sono Trinity Group, said it carried out a range of corporate social responsibility activities over July and August for children at affiliated community child centers, including leisure and cultural experiences as well as donations of school supplies.
The initiative was part of Sono International's ESG management efforts, designed to give children at community child centers summer vacation memories through a combination of resort invitations and educational support.
Free invitation events were held at Vivaldi Park in Hongcheon, Gangwon Province, Sol Beach Samcheok, Sol Beach Namhae and Sono Belle Byeonsan, where children took part in water park activities and other cultural and leisure programs.
Sol Beach Samcheok hosted 60 children from the Samcheok Community Child Center and Neulpureun Child Center over two days — July 27 and 28 — treating them to a session at the Ocean Play water park and lunch.
Vivaldi Park invited 20 children from a Hongcheon community child center to its Ocean World on July 29. The children splashed in the wave pool and Waterplex in the indoor aqua zone before enjoying a bubble show, a live band performance and timer games.
Sol Beach Namhae welcomed about 150 children from eight community child centers over Aug. 18 and 19, providing access to its infinity pool and lunch. Sono Belle Byeonsan also invited about 40 affiliated children for a session at the Ocean Play water park.
Alongside the resort visits, the company donated educational materials to support children's learning. Sono Belle Jeju donated book sets to the Hamdeok and Sinchon community child centers on July 9, while Goseong Delfino delivered art supplies to the Kkumdongsan Community Child Center on July 20. Sol Beach Yangyang and Samcheok, Sono Calm Geoje and Yeosu, and Sono Belle Cheonan also donated various supplies to community child centers in their areas.
Sono International has established sister-center partnerships with 26 community child centers in areas where Sono Hotels and Resorts properties are located across the country, running community-focused ESG programs every year that include water park and ski resort invitations as well as donations of educational materials.
"We are deeply grateful to have been able to give the children special summer vacation memories through these invitation and donation events," a Sono International official said. "We will continue to work with community child centers near our Sono Hotels and Resorts properties nationwide to carry out sincere and meaningful social contribution activities."
