Christopher Nolan's "Odyssey" has crossed the 8 million admissions mark in South Korea.

According to the Korean Film Council's integrated ticketing system, "Odyssey" surpassed 8 million cumulative admissions as of 6:43 p.m. Friday — just 24 days after its opening.

That is two days faster than "Spider-Man: Brand New Day" and "The King's Warden," both of which reached the same milestone on their 26th day of release. With the record, "Odyssey" has set a new mark as the fastest film released this year to reach 8 million admissions.

The film now appears set to push toward the 10 million mark in earnest.

"Odyssey" has held the top spot at the box office every day since its opening, and in its fourth week of release it has already logged more than 560,000 advance ticket sales, underscoring its sustained commercial momentum.

The film is a blockbuster adaptation of Homer's ancient epic poem "The Odyssey," following the hero Odysseus — who led the Greeks to victory in the Trojan War — as he overcomes trials set by the gods on his decade-long journey home to Ithaca.
