Party wraps up overnight workshop in Chuncheon, pledges 'fundamental social reform people can feel'
The Rebuilding Korea Party said Friday it would "clearly show the public our vision of becoming an advanced nation in social rights by dismantling seven forms of inequality at the upcoming regular National Assembly session."
The party wrapped up its "2026 Regular Session Lawmakers' Workshop" in Chuncheon, Gangwon Province, that day and released a resolution embodying that commitment.
The workshop — the first held since Floor Leader Kim Jun-hyung took the helm — saw the party's lawmakers finalize their approach to the coming national audit and budget review, anchored in a clear reform identity.
The resolution adopted by the lawmakers put the party's core message — "the Rebuilding Korea Party that fights inequality" — front and center, pledging to make the regular session a "people's livelihood reform session" that protects citizens' daily lives. To that end, the resolution identified seven areas of inequality to be dismantled: regional inequality through balanced national development; inequality between social classes through protection of the vulnerable; generational inequality through guaranteed opportunities for future generations; safety inequality by shielding citizens from disasters and hazards; climate inequality through a just transition; social inequality by rejecting hatred and discrimination against minorities and the marginalized; and political inequality through the realization of pluralistic democracy.
Reading the resolution aloud, the lawmakers pledged to "compete on reform, cooperate on livelihoods, and defend democracy," vowing to advance as "a clear and strong livelihood-reform party that lays the foundation for an advanced social-rights nation."
Kim said the resolution, adopted unanimously by the lawmakers for the success of the Republic of Korea, was "a commitment to the public to deliver tangible legislative results solely on the side of people's livelihoods." He added that the party would pursue "more fundamental social reform — including dismantling the seven inequalities and building the foundation of an advanced social-rights nation — in a way the public can actually feel, through the resolve of a small but strong 'one team.'"
