Airline credits operational discipline for consistent punctuality

Parata Air said Friday it ranked first among South Korean carriers in cumulative on-time performance from January through July this year.

According to official statistics from the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport, Parata Air posted a combined on-time rate of 89.4 percent for the January–July period, 5.9 percentage points above the national carrier average for the same period.

The airline said it has focused from the outset on building a safe and stable flight operations system rather than pursuing rapid network expansion, continuously strengthening its operational management capabilities.

Since resuming commercial operations last September with a Yangyang–Jeju route, Parata Air has gradually expanded its network to include Gimpo–Jeju as well as destinations in Japan and Vietnam. The carrier has also been steadily adding flights and seat capacity by introducing Airbus A330 and A320 aircraft in stages.

The airline attributed its ability to maintain high punctuality throughout the network and fleet expansion to close cross-departmental coordination among its flight operations, maintenance, cabin and airport teams, backed by systematic flight management.

On-time performance is one of the most tangible service indicators for passengers and a key measure of an airline's operational management capabilities. Because flight delays can ripple through a traveler's entire itinerary, consistent punctuality is considered a fundamental value that carriers owe their customers.

"The fact that we were able to maintain stable on-time performance even as our flights and routes expanded rapidly is a testament to the dedication of our staff, who each fulfilled their roles on the ground," a Parata Air official said. "We will continue to uphold the core principles of safety and on-time operations without wavering, and strive to be an airline that customers can choose with confidence."

Meanwhile, Parata Air has recently grown its fleet to five aircraft and is actively investing to strengthen its aviation competitiveness — including a partnership with global wheel-and-brake specialist TP Aerospace to expand its overseas maintenance and parts support network.
