Travelers in their 20s and 30s account for majority of passengers

T'way Air announced Friday that its Incheon-Paris route, which launched Aug. 28, 2024, has operated about 490 round-trip flights over the past two years and carried a cumulative total of approximately 200,000 passengers.

By nationality, passengers broke down as follows: South Korean (64%), French (24%), Japanese (4%), Chinese (3%) and other nationalities (5%), with an even gender split. By age group, travelers in their 20s accounted for 38%, followed by those in their 30s (25%), 40s (11%), 50s (11%) and others (15%). The 20-to-30 age bracket made up more than half of all passengers, reflecting strong demand from younger travelers.

On the cargo side, the route transported about 6,800 tons of import and export freight over the two years. Leveraging the belly cargo capacity of its wide-body aircraft, T'way has loaded industrial equipment, semiconductor components, clothing and cosmetics into unit load devices (ULDs), maintaining steady cargo earnings.

The Incheon-Paris service departs Incheon International Airport at 10:10 a.m. and arrives at Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport at 6:10 p.m. The return flight leaves Paris at 8:30 p.m. local time and arrives back at Incheon International Airport at around 3:40 p.m. the following day.

The aircraft operating the route features lie-flat business class seats, offering long-haul travelers a comfortable flight. All passengers also receive two complimentary in-flight meals each way, among other value-added services.

"The Paris route has maintained stable operations over the past two years, built on competitive fares and differentiated service," a T'way Air official said. "We will continue to put safety first while strengthening our service competitiveness to deliver the best possible flying experience to our customers."

Meanwhile, T'way Air recorded an average load factor of nearly 90% across all international routes in the first half of this year.

The airline carried about 5.6 million passengers in total during the first half, of whom about 3.8 million traveled on international routes — an increase of about 12% from approximately 3.38 million international passengers in the same period last year.
