Event highlights specialty materials achievements and career guidance for researchers

Samyang announced Thursday that it held a research and development job fair for graduate researchers at Seoul-based universities.

The group hosted the 2026 R&D Job Fair on Wednesday at the Samyang Discovery Center in Pangyo, welcoming 70 researchers from 14 laboratories across seven Seoul-area graduate schools. Samyang invited graduate students conducting research in fields related to the group's core businesses — including chemicals, food, pharmaceutical biotech and packaging — and introduced them to the company's R&D operations.

The program unfolded in four stages: a group-wide R&D overview, individual research institute presentations, mentoring sessions with current researchers, and a tour of the headquarters and laboratories. Chief Technology Officer Lee Sang-yun took the stage to present the specialized competencies required for R&D roles across each business division and to showcase the group's achievements in specialty materials development.

Four research institute directors then spoke in turn, explaining the characteristics, principles, applications and use cases of the key technologies and materials under development at their respective institutes.

The event also included a career support session for graduate students. Team leaders from the research institutes served as mentors, offering advice on the latest research trends, the realities of working as a researcher, and the skills graduate students should develop — guidance aimed at helping participants plan their careers.

The event concluded with a visit to Samyang Innovation Hub, a showroom showcasing the group's specialty materials and corporate purpose, followed by a tour of the research facilities.

One participant said the event was valuable for offering a firsthand look at R&D processes and the role of researchers in industry — knowledge difficult to gain from theory alone. "I was particularly able to understand how the field I am currently researching is applied in corporate R&D and how it leads to commercialization," the participant said. "The career mentoring also helped me a great deal in preparing for employment."

Lee Su-beom, head of human resources and culture at Samyang Holdings, said the R&D Job Fair was designed to give future research talent a chance to experience industrial R&D firsthand and connect with working researchers. "We will continue to create more opportunities to engage with outstanding research talent and to share the group's R&D competitiveness and vision," he said.

Samyang also runs a range of other regular employment support programs, including a marketing competition called the Samyang Strategy Marketing League, executive briefings for students at regional national universities, job-experience sessions and workplace tours.
