The Red Cross Volunteer Corps of Daegu Health College visited a nursing home in Dalseo-gu, Daegu, on Saturday, providing medical and community services for about 90 elderly residents.
A total of 34 people took part, including university President Nam Seong-hee and other faculty, staff and students.
The volunteers organized a range of programs tailored to the residents' health and daily needs — cleaning dentures, fitting and cleaning eyeglasses, and providing oral hygiene education, as well as lifestyle-focused activities such as nail art and haircuts.
"We will continue to reach out proactively to where the community needs us, putting into practice the values of service and care that health and medical professionals must embody," Nam said.
