Singer Seo In-young has sold the last two designer handbags she had been holding onto, saying she needed money for daily expenses.
A video titled "How much did Seo In-young, who blew her savings on liposuction, get for selling her last two designer bags?" was posted Wednesday on her YouTube channel "Gaegwacheoonseon Seo In-young."
That day, Seo said she wanted to "live with nothing" and needed cash, and headed to a secondhand luxury store with the two bags in hand.
Seo, who said she handed her bank account over to her father and lives on an allowance, also shared that she had mentioned wanting to buy new clothes for filming — only to be told by her father, "You still haven't fixed your old habits," which she said left her feeling hurt.
She ultimately decided to part with the bags she had kept until the very end, saying, "I thought I absolutely had to keep these two, but I have no occasion to carry them anymore. I have no money right now."
Spotting an Hermès Kelly bag on display at the store, Seo remarked, "I used to have all of these — every color," adding that while the store's retail price was 15 million won ($10,800), she had originally paid 40 million won for hers.
She then tried to sell an Hermès Birkin bag she had received as a gift from a former partner and a Chanel Coco bag she purchased in 2017, but was left deflated after hearing the appraisers' offers.
The Chanel bag was valued at 1.6 million won due to signs of wear and cracking, while the Hermès bag, though in relatively better condition, fetched only 2.6 million won.
The store suggested she could receive about 1 million won more through consignment, but Seo chose an immediate cash sale, saying, "I need the money right now."
She also made a brief appearance on the store's live broadcast and received an additional 100,000 won, walking away with a total of 4.45 million won. "It's way too cheap," she said, unable to hide her disappointment.
