The Yangju Municipal Hoeamsaji Museum announced Wednesday that its "2026 Vivid National Heritage — Hoeamsa Vacation" program, originally scheduled for Saturday, has been rescheduled to Sept. 6 due to rain.
Supported by the Cultural Heritage Administration, the Hoeamsa Vacation program aims to introduce citizens to the history and world heritage value of the Hoeamsaji site in Yangju, reinterpreting its historical significance through a modern lens to offer a blend of culture and leisure.
The first segment, "Hoeamsa Sinmucha Festival," will feature wish-hanging for UNESCO World Heritage listing, hands-on workshops making door bells and keyrings modeled on artifacts excavated from the Hoeamsaji site, food experiences and a photo booth. The second segment, "Hoeamsa Vacation," will present traditional magic and martial arts performances.
The rescheduled event will run from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Sept. 6. Those wishing to join the advance-registration program "Hoeamsa Gongyang Gongbang" can search for "Culture With You The Spring" on Naver and sign up through the reservation system. Further details are available by phone.
Hong Mi-yeong, head of the Culture and Tourism Division, asked for the public's understanding over the date change. "We will prepare an even safer and more enriching program in line with the new schedule so that citizens can experience firsthand the world heritage value and appeal of the Yangju Hoeamsaji site," she said.
