Korea Maritime and Ocean University announced Wednesday it will hold the "2026 KMOU Job Fair" on Sept. 10 at the first and fourth floors of the new wing of the university library and in outdoor spaces on its campus in Yeongdo-gu, Busan.
The university said the fair is designed to help not only current students and graduates but also young job seekers from the broader Busan area strengthen their employment skills and connect with companies and public institutions.
Participating organizations will include government agencies, local authorities, public institutions and leading companies across a range of industries — shipbuilding, maritime, logistics, finance and IT. Attendees can review hiring information from each organization and speak directly with recruiters to get specific details on job roles and application processes.
The fair will also offer one-on-one career consultations with corporate recruiters, company-specific hiring information sessions, and mentoring by alumni working in relevant fields. These programs aim to give participants firsthand insight into the job market and help them sharpen their career plans and job-search strategies.
A range of experiential side programs will also be available, including personal color analysis, caricature drawing, tarot-based career counseling and natural herb aromatherapy, aimed at creating a relaxed atmosphere for attendees.
Education officials said the fair is significant in that it opens the university's career support infrastructure and industry-academia network to the wider community. KMOU plans to use the event to strengthen job-matching between local youth and employers, offering young people a broader range of employment opportunities while helping companies identify talented local candidates.
"We plan to continue expanding career support programs that connect the university, businesses and the local community," a university official said, "so that students and young people in the region can build their employability and talented individuals can grow and put down roots in local industries."
