The anchor project unit of Gyeongbuk Science University signed an industry-academia cooperation MOU on Friday to establish a second-phase governance framework for a lifelong vocational education system, at the Sangsaeng Maru hall of the Chilgok-gun Education and Culture Center.

The signing ceremony was attended by Ryu Hye-won, a professor with the university's anchor project unit, and three colleagues, along with Kim Min-ji, head of Gyemyeong Marketing Research Institute; Oh Ga-eun, chief executive of Daebak Company; Bae Chang-hun, chief executive of Hana VIP; and Kim Gwang-su, chief executive of Daehan Park Golf System.

A total of 11 organizations were listed as partner institutions.

They are JB Soft, Medical Training Center, Geuncheo Photo Studio, Damul, Sopom, Etoo, Daehan Park Golf System, Nine Labs, Gyemyeong Marketing Research Institute, Daebak Company and Hana VIP.

The cooperation extended to the care sector the following day. The university's lifelong vocational education operations team signed an agreement on Saturday to develop a training program for integrated care specialists, at the Chilgok-gun Family Center in Waegwan-eup, Chilgok-gun, North Gyeongsang Province.

Professor Ryu and Nam Ri-na, director of the Chilgok-gun Family Center, took part in the signing, pledging to collaborate on running the training program, providing field practicum opportunities and linking graduates with employment.

On the same day, participants in the integrated care specialist training program visited the Chilgok-gun Family Center for an on-site study tour.

The tour brought together Professor Ryu, Kim Jae-jin, a department head at the Chilgok-gun Family Center, and 46 participants, who examined the center's operations, care service procedures and family support programs.

A university official said the two agreements would serve as a springboard to expand lifelong vocational education programs in partnership with local businesses and institutions, with plans to supply the region with practice-oriented workers in the care and service sectors.
