Ulsan calls for project ideas using hometown love fund
Applications accepted through Sept. 11 on city website
Ulsan is accepting public submissions for project ideas through Sept. 11 on how to spend donations collected under the country's hometown love fund program.
The hometown love donation system allows individuals to contribute to their hometown or any local government of their choosing. Since the system took effect in 2023, Ulsan has collected about 350 million won ($253,000) in donations.
To put the fund to use for residents, the city is soliciting ideas across four areas: support for socially vulnerable groups and youth development and protection; promotion of culture, arts and public health for local residents; community revitalization through civic participation and volunteering; and other projects aimed at improving residents' welfare.
Details on how to apply are available on the Ulsan city website and its official blog, "Ulsan Nuri." Submitted proposals will go through a rigorous review evaluating each idea's public value, originality, effectiveness and feasibility. Top contributors will receive special benefits, including a solo interview video shoot and the opportunity to be featured in promotional content for the hometown love fund.
