57 entry-level, 3 experienced hires including lawyers and accountants

Applications open Friday through Sept. 10; appointment set for Dec. 30

Positions span management planning, corporate evaluation, IT and more

The Korea SMEs and Startups Agency is recruiting 60 general-track employees for the second half of 2026. Following a record 109 hires last year, the agency is targeting a combined total of 120 positions this year across both halves, based on job postings.

The agency announced Tuesday it will select 57 entry-level employees and three experienced professionals — including lawyers and accountants — through the second-half recruitment drive. Open competitive positions include 12 in management planning, 19 in corporate evaluation, three in global affairs, four in bond management and compliance support, and two in statistical financial engineering. To secure specialists capable of responding to structural shifts in industry, the agency is also recruiting five IT computing staff and two big data and AI specialists.

The restricted competitive track will fill three positions requiring professional licenses — one lawyer and two accountants. An additional 10 slots are set aside under the social equity hiring track for veterans and others eligible for employment support.

The agency's total hiring target for this year stands at 120 — 60 in the first half and 60 in the second — 11 more than the 109 new hires recorded last year.

The selection process will proceed in four stages: document screening, written examination, a first-round practical interview and a second-round executive interview. The written examination will be held in Seoul on Oct. 10. Final results will be announced in December, with the appointment date set for Dec. 30.

The job posting will be available from Wednesday on the agency's website and on Job-Alio, the public institution recruitment information system. Applications will be accepted online through the agency's recruitment website from Friday through 5 p.m. on Sept. 10.

The agency conducts competency-based hiring aligned with the National Competency Standards and operates a blind recruitment system that places no restrictions on educational background, hometown or age. Hiring quota programs for people with disabilities, veterans and regional talent are also in place.

"The Korea SMEs and Startups Agency has received consecutive certification as an exemplary institution for blind and fair hiring since 2022," agency President Kang Seok-jin said. "We look forward to the interest and applications of talented individuals who will join us in supporting the growth and global advancement of small and medium-sized venture businesses."
