Actor Kim Seung-hyun, 45, has revealed how much his family's YouTube channel earns each month.

The channel, Gwangsan Gimssie Paemilli, posted a video Sunday featuring Kim's younger brother Kim Seung-hwan in conversation with the channel's video editor.

Kim Seung-hwan mentioned that some past videos had racked up 2 million views, and said that while he used to take the lead on content planning, most of the family has recently been focused on their main careers. "I have my own work, and acting is my brother's top priority, so the channel has felt a bit scattered. I'm sorry," he said.

On the channel's earnings, Kim Seung-hwan was candid. "Honestly, we don't make much — if we did, I think we would have made this our main job," he said, adding that the channel now brings in about 1 million won ($724) a month. That is a sharp drop from five years ago, when monthly revenue sometimes reached 10 million won. "One million won is actually doing quite well right now — there were times before when it was only a few hundred thousand won," he said.

The channel currently has around 191,000 subscribers.

Kim Seung-hyun debuted as a magazine model in 1997 and became one of Korea's original teen stars. He gained wide public affection particularly through the 2017 KBS 2TV variety program "Salrim Haneun Namjadeul 2," about men who take on household duties, where he offered a warm look at his family life. He became a father at 19 without marrying and raised his daughter as a single father before marrying a broadcasting writer in 2020.
