Taihan Cable & Solution announced Tuesday that it is participating in CIGRE 2026, held in Paris, France, from Sunday through Friday.

CIGRE is an international organization founded in 1921 to share the latest technology and research in power transmission and distribution. It holds a biennial academic conference and exhibition widely regarded as a leading event for tracking technological direction and market trends in the global power industry.

At this year's exhibition, Taihan Cable & Solution is presenting products and systems under the theme "Connecting the Future of Power Through Technology," including submarine cable turnkey solutions and HVDC and extra-high-voltage cable systems.

The company placed its submarine cable turnkey solution at the front of its booth to highlight its competitiveness across the full value chain. As part of that effort, it introduced its production infrastructure — including its currently operating Submarine Cable Factory 1 and Submarine Cable Factory 2, which can produce 640-kilovolt HVDC and 400-kilovolt high-voltage alternating current submarine cables. The company also provided detailed information on its cable-laying vessel fleet, the only one of its kind in South Korea, comprising the Scandi Connector and the Palaos.

Taihan Cable & Solution also displayed South Korea's first 500-kilovolt current-source HVDC cable system and a 525-kilovolt voltage-source HVDC land cable system, underscoring its capabilities in long-distance, large-capacity power transmission. The company also introduced its HVDC test center, which can simultaneously test two circuits of 640-kilovolt land and submarine HVDC cables.

Senior executives including Vice Chairman and CEO Song Jong-min, Executive Vice President Lee Chun-won, head of the submarine business division, and Senior Vice President Nam Jeong-se, head of the energy overseas business division, met with representatives from major European power utilities and clients to discuss ongoing projects and future cooperation.

In June, Taihan Cable & Solution announced it would supply an extra-high-voltage cable system worth 65 billion won ($47 million) for a power grid construction project in Scotland, United Kingdom, being pursued by global infrastructure firm Balfour Beatty.

"Demand for power grid investment is growing rapidly worldwide, driven by the spread of AI data centers and the expansion of renewable energy," a company official said. "Taihan Cable & Solution will build on its technological competitiveness in submarine cables, HVDC, and extra-high-voltage cable systems to expand cooperation with global customers and actively secure new orders."

The official added that the company aims "to become a total-solution company leading the global power infrastructure market through continued R&D and investment in production and construction infrastructure."
