A man in his 20s who disguised himself with a wig and mask to sneak into the women's changing room at Caribbean Bay water park and secretly film visitors has been taken into custody.

A court in Suwon issued an arrest warrant Monday for the suspect, identified only as A, after holding a pre-arrest hearing. He faces charges under the Act on Special Cases Concerning the Punishment of Sexual Violence Crimes — specifically for filming using a camera and for entering a public facility for sexual purposes.

Senior Judge Choi Yu-shin of the Suwon District Court, who oversees warrant reviews, cited a risk of evidence destruction and flight as grounds for issuing the warrant.

A is accused of sneaking into the women's changing room at Caribbean Bay in Everland, Yongin, on two occasions — once in mid-July and again on July 30 — and secretly filming visitors with his mobile phone and other devices. Investigators said he disguised himself with a short-cut wig, sunglasses and a mask to appear gender-neutral.

On July 30 at around 4:40 p.m., A was spotted wandering inside the women's changing room with his face covered, drawing suspicion from other visitors. When a staff member asked to see his identification, he fled. Police received a report the same day and launched an investigation. About 20 days later, on Friday, they arrested him on an emergency basis and applied for an arrest warrant on Saturday.

Two victims have been identified so far, but the number could grow as police conduct digital forensic analysis of A's mobile phone, a small camera and other storage devices. A told investigators he filmed out of curiosity, intended to keep the footage for himself and had not distributed any of it.
