Kim Tae-kyun, a longtime host of SBS Radio's "Cultwo Show," stepped away from the broadcast Monday for the first time in 21 years.

In his absence, comedians Song Eun-i and Shin Bong-sun filled in as special DJs on the Monday edition of SBS Power FM's "Dusi Talchul Cultwo Show," a midday radio variety program.

Opening the show from the booth, Song explained why Kim was missing. "You're probably wondering why you can't hear Kim Tae-kyun's voice," she said. "He has kept this show going for 21 years, but he said there was something important he really wanted to do today as a father. So he's taking the day off."

Kim has occasionally been absent from the booth for vacations, but Monday marked the first time he stepped away for personal reasons.

Shin playfully teased Song about the situation. "Aren't you and Kim Tae-kyun friends? If anything goes wrong with today's show, it's all on you," she said. Song replied, telling Shin, "Today, I'm counting entirely on you."

Kim has hosted "Dusi Talchul Cultwo Show" since 2006, making him one of South Korea's most enduring radio DJs. He married in 2005 and welcomed a son the following year.
