Graduates of the Yeungjin Active Model Academy, a continuing education program at Yeungjin University, have established a scholarship fund to nurture local talent, continuing a cycle of giving back alongside the university.

The Yeungjin Active Model Academy Alumni Association donated 1 million won ($718), pooled by its members, to Yeungjin University on Thursday at a graduation ceremony and showcase for the academy's third and fourth cohorts, held at the Daegu Suseong Tourist Hotel.

The scholarship will go to two students enrolled in the university's beauty convergence department to support their studies and personal development.

The Yeungjin Active Model Academy is a senior model program under the university's continuing education center. Launched in November 2024, it has run four cohorts and produced 96 graduates to date.

Graduates have also been active in a range of public activities, drawing on their modeling training.

At last year's Powerful Daegu Festival, the group won an excellence award in the parade category, and members have since expanded their presence into commercial filming and movie appearances.

Students and faculty from the beauty convergence department supported the graduates by providing makeup, styling and coordination for their public activities. That collaboration — linking classroom education with real-world experience — has helped graduates build an active presence in the community.

At Thursday's event, 15 graduates received their certificates: five from the third cohort's instructor-level course and 10 from the fourth cohort's beginner course.

The graduates showcased the walking techniques and poses they had honed at the academy, drawing warm applause from attending family members and fellow alumni.

Alumni association president Yun Yeong-ja said members would continue to raise the academy's profile, strengthen the association and expand scholarship benefits going forward.

Kim Gi-jong, director of the continuing education center and a professor at the university, expressed deep gratitude to the alumni association for the donation. "The graduates' voluntary act of giving is creating a warm cycle that connects the university, continuing education graduates and current students," he said.
