Sprint legend Usain Bolt has proposed to his longtime partner Kasi Bennett, capping a 13-year relationship that produced three children.
According to People magazine and the Jamaica Observer, Bolt formally proposed to Bennett on Saturday during his 40th birthday party at One Belmont in Kingston, Jamaica.
Family and close friends were on hand to celebrate the couple, and Bennett was spotted beaming as she showed off a five-carat diamond engagement ring.
Before the proposal, Bennett had shared photos and videos of her time with Bolt on social media, offering a glimpse of their bond.
The couple began dating in 2013 and publicly acknowledged their relationship around the 2016 Rio Olympics. They have three children together: daughter Olympia Lightning Bolt, 6, and twin sons Thunder and Saint Leo, 5.
In a 2016 interview, Bolt said he wanted to spend about 10 years getting to know his partner before marriage — just as his parents had done. Saturday's proposal marked him making good on that intention.
