Song Young-han surged up the leaderboard at LIV Golf Indianapolis — the season-ending event with a $10.1 million purse — to reach tied sixth place heading into the final round.

Playing Sunday at The Club at Chatham Hills (par 70) in Westfield, Indiana, Song fired a 5-under-par 65 to reach 11-under 199 for the tournament, joining Sergio Garcia of Spain and Bubba Watson of the United States in a share of sixth place.

Song sits just two shots behind leader Michael La Sasso of the United States and one shot back of the group tied for second — Cameron Smith of Australia, Thomas Detry of Belgium, and Laurie Canter and Richard Bland of England — leaving him well within striking distance of a come-from-behind victory in the final round.

La Sasso carded a 4-under 66 to reach 13-under 197, holding a one-shot lead over the four players tied for second. Born in 2004, La Sasso won the NCAA Championship individual title last year and is the youngest rookie to join LIV Golf this season. He plays for HyFlyers GC, captained by Phil Mickelson of the United States, and has yet to win a professional event.

Jon Rahm of Spain and Bryson DeChambeau of the United States, who have already clinched first and second in the season-long individual standings, both sit at 10-under 200, tied for 10th — three shots off the lead and still in contention for the title.

Wildcard Lee Tae-hoon of Canada, who entered the third round one shot off the lead, dropped three shots to fall to 8-under 202, sliding to tied 23rd. Kim Min-gyu, by contrast, played a clean round with four birdies and no bogeys to climb into a share of 23rd as well.

Ahn Byeong-hun, captain of Korean Golf Club within Crushers GC, carded a 1-under round to reach 6-under 204, sitting tied 31st. Moon Do-yeob also shot 1 under to stand at 3-under 207, tied for 40th.
