Yeongdeungpo-gu District Mayor Cho Yu-jin attended the second-semester opening ceremony of the Neulpureum School for the 2026 academic year at the YDP Adult Literacy Education Center on Friday morning, encouraging elderly learners who continue to pursue education.
About 60 elementary and middle school learners attended the ceremony, where Cho, serving as the school's principal, delivered an address and outlined the upcoming academic schedule.
The YDP Adult Literacy Education Center currently provides learning opportunities to 488 elderly students. To date, 319 graduates have earned elementary or middle school equivalency diplomas, and 39 of them have gone on to enroll in university.
"I have deep respect for your courage and passion — you are living proof that learning has no age limit," Cho said. "We will always be a steadfast pillar of support so that you can joyfully complete your journey of learning."
