Ulsan's Nam-gu district has won the excellence award in the outstanding projects category at the Ministry of Employment and Labor's 2026 National Local Government Jobs Competition, earning 5 million won ($3,570) in fiscal support to strengthen employee capacity.

Nam-gu received high marks for its youth job support project, which operates under the theme "Turning Dreams into Reality, Opening Tomorrow for Youth" and aims to help young residents find employment, launch businesses and put down roots in the area.

On the employment side, the district runs a youth job café as a hub for programs including a youth growth project, a youth challenge support project and a youth intern job support project. On the startup side, it has provided office and logistics space to young startups and offered entrepreneurship training for aspiring young founders.

Through these employment and startup initiatives, Nam-gu created 479 direct and indirect jobs for young people last year.
