Lotte Global Logistics announced Thursday that it will introduce a new delivery service for Marine Corps uniforms using its eco-friendly packaging solution "Recop."

Recop is an eco-friendly packaging solution launched by Lotte Global Logistics. It was unveiled in April at the company's key customer forum, "Core Client Day."

The first in the logistics industry to meet the government's excessive packaging regulations, Recop is made from paper and biodegradable plastic, dramatically reducing excess packaging and carbon emissions compared with conventional cardboard boxes.

The Recop envelope-type packaging lineup includes the "Fair Bag," made from a single biodegradable plastic material seven times stronger than ordinary vinyl; the "Fair Arc Bag," which combines waterproof kraft paper with biodegradable plastic; the "Arc Bag," made from a single waterproof kraft paper material as a substitute for vinyl poly bags; and the "Peco Bag," designed to more securely package clothing items inside.

The Fair Arc Bag, in particular, uses waterproof kraft paper to protect contents from external contamination and comes in a range of sizes for greater delivery efficiency, Lotte Global Logistics said. The biodegradable plastic air-cap lining inside the envelope provides strong product protection while breaking down more than 90 percent within two years, minimizing environmental impact.

Lotte Global Logistics, which began working with the Marine Corps Logistics Group in May, will use Recop to deliver officer uniforms to Marine Corps units across the country, including those on remote islands.

Marine Corps officers will be able to order uniforms through the officer clothing shopping mall and receive them as quickly as through civilian courier services. After delivery, the Recop packaging can be easily separated and disposed of.

The company plans to expand Recop to deliveries for a wider range of customers based on experience gained from this operation.

"Through Recop, we will achieve eco-friendly logistics and high-quality delivery at the same time, greatly improving the daily convenience of Marine Corps officers," a Lotte Global Logistics official said. "We will continue to expand eco-friendly solutions across various sectors and lead sustainable logistics innovation."
