DB HiTek, a South Korean 8-inch foundry specialist, announced Thursday that it will make its first appearance at Electronica India 2026, South Asia's largest electronics industry exhibition, to be held in Bengaluru, India, from Sept. 16 to 18 local time.

Electronica India covers electronic components, systems, applications and related solutions.

As the Indian government steps up policies to foster its semiconductor industry, local fabless chip design firms are expanding their business scope, pointing to rising foundry demand. DB HiTek said it plans to use the exhibition as an opportunity to broaden its reach among India's fabless companies.

At the show, DB HiTek will present its flagship BCD process alongside next-generation power semiconductor technologies, including silicon carbide (SiC) and gallium nitride (GaN).

BCD, the company's signature process, is a power semiconductor manufacturing technology that integrates bipolar analog control, CMOS digital logic and DMOS high-voltage power devices onto a single chip. The process has shipped a cumulative 9 million wafers, and DB HiTek continues to expand its applications into high-value sectors such as automotive and industrial, drawing on its accumulated mass production experience and process competitiveness.

In next-generation power semiconductors, the company recently completed validation of its 1,200-volt SiC MOSFET process and plans to finish validating its 650-volt GaN process in December. Performance evaluations of products using these processes are currently under way with strategic customers.

"Through our participation in Electronica India, we will widen our touchpoints with local customers and continue to identify new business opportunities based on our power semiconductor and specialized process capabilities."
