Sales top 1.42 million units, led by Geely Galaxy and Zeekr
Revenue rises 15% to 173.6 billion yuan
Geely Auto Group announced Thursday that it achieved record sales volume and revenue in the first half of 2026, while sharply raising its full-year export target as overseas shipments surged.
First-half revenue surpassed 170 billion yuan ($25.2 billion), extending the group's streak of first-half revenue growth to six consecutive years. Total revenue for the period reached 173.6 billion yuan, up 15 percent from a year earlier, while operating profit jumped 46 percent year-on-year to 9.68 billion yuan.
The gross profit margin rose to 17.9 percent, and per-vehicle profit climbed 45 percent year-on-year to 6,806 yuan.
As a result, the group's cash reserves as of June 30 approached an all-time high of 69.56 billion yuan.
Global sales reached a record 1,422,958 units in the first half. By brand, the Geely Galaxy series sold about 520,000 units in the period. Zeekr delivered more than 178,000 vehicles, accounting for roughly 12.5 percent of the group's total sales, while Lynk & Co maintained solid momentum with more than 144,000 units sold.
Alongside the record earnings, Geely stepped up investment in research and development and product-related areas. Total R&D spending rose 8 percent year-on-year to 9.06 billion yuan, though improved operational efficiency brought the R&D expenditure ratio down 0.3 percentage points to 5.2 percent.
In the second half of 2026, Geely plans to accelerate the electrification of its internal combustion engine lineup through advanced hybrid electric vehicle technology. The group aims to exceed monthly i-HEV sales of 30,000 units by year-end, laying the groundwork for a global i-HEV push in 2027.
Overseas expansion has been a key growth driver. Exports outside China surged 158 percent year-on-year to 474,000 units in the first half, already surpassing the full-year 2025 export total of 420,000 units. Monthly exports also topped 100,000 units for two consecutive months in June and July.
Geely has accordingly raised its 2026 export target from 640,000 units to 920,000, with an eye toward approaching 1 million units on an annual basis.
"Driven by explosive growth across all brands, including Zeekr, Geely Auto Group was able to achieve record earnings in the first half of this year," a company official said. "With advances in hybrid technology and the market expansion of luxury vehicles such as the Zeekr 9X, there are many reasons to be optimistic about the second half, and we are confident we can reach the 920,000-unit export target."
Meanwhile, Geely Auto Group plans to bring all three of its brands — Geely, Zeekr and Lynk & Co — to the Paris Motor Show 2026, which opens Oct. 12. The group intends to showcase its global brand portfolio, advanced technologies and progress in its ongoing international expansion at the event.
