Korea Land and Housing Corporation said Thursday it has begun full operations of its Real-time Integrated Construction Information System, known as RICS, which monitors and analyzes safety hazards at construction sites across the country in real time.

RICS is an AI-powered safety management platform that consolidates work status, personnel and equipment deployment, and accident data from all LH construction sites nationwide, enabling real-time risk detection through site-by-site hazard analysis.

LH began building the system in March last year, establishing a dedicated task force and conducting phased pilot operations. After gathering feedback from sites in the first half of this year, the corporation completed final improvements to enhance the system's stability and usability.

Using RICS, LH will identify the 20 highest-risk sites among its 350 construction sites nationwide each day and apply what it calls "precision safety management" to those locations.

At the selected high-risk sites, LH plans to use tools including its AI-based monitoring system Neulbom A-Eye to proactively eliminate hazards that could lead to accidents and significantly strengthen its response framework for emergencies. Neulbom A-Eye analyzes CCTV footage and Internet of Things sensor data using AI to detect dangerous situations, triggering on-site speaker announcements and alerts to relevant personnel.

"We are working to overcome the limitations of traditional on-site personnel-based management by building a seamless safety system using smart technologies such as AI," said Lee Sang-jo, head of LH's Smart Construction Safety Division. "We will put workers' safety first and do our utmost to eliminate blind spots in safety management."
