Samsung C&T announced Thursday that two of its Raemian landscaping projects have won top honors in the environmental category of the IDEA 2026 awards, one of the world's three most prestigious design competitions. The wins extend Raemian's consecutive record at the awards to three years, dating back to 2024.

Samsung C&T's construction division submitted two entries — the "Wind Library Garden" at Raemian One Perla in Seocho-gu, Seoul, and the "Blue Forest Garden" at Jamsil Raemian I'Park in Songpa-gu — and both took top honors.

The IDEA Design Awards, co-hosted by the Industrial Designers Society of America and the American business weekly BusinessWeek, is North America's most authoritative design competition and ranks alongside Germany's Red Dot Design Award and iF Design Award as one of the world's top three design prizes. Entries are judged each year on design innovation, user benefit, social responsibility and aesthetics.

The award-winning Wind Library Garden draws on the traditional Korean landscaping concept of "chakyeong" — borrowing scenery from the surrounding environment — to create an outdoor book cafe connected to a small library. The garden pulls the surrounding nature and complex scenery inward, allowing residents to enjoy a relaxed daily life alongside books.

The Blue Forest Garden centers on a curved teahouse and observation deck, offering panoramic views from four distinct vantage points. Its defining feature is a design that lets residents experience a shifting landscape depending on where they walk and where they linger.

Samsung C&T first won a top honor at the IDEA awards in 2024 with the public walkway at Raemian One Bailey, then took a bronze last year for the "Green Cascade" landscaping installation, also at Raemian One Bailey. With two landscaping works winning top honors simultaneously this year, the company has now secured three consecutive years of recognition at the awards — including back-to-back wins specifically for landscaping.

Samsung C&T plans to actively leverage Raemian's internationally recognized landscaping design credentials in new project bids and pre-sale marketing going forward.

Jang Byeong-yun, executive vice president and head of Samsung C&T's housing construction division, said the company would "continue to unveil differentiated landscaping designs that elevate the spatial value of each complex while offering residents a distinctly Raemian residential experience."
