Orion said Thursday that its longtime bestsellers Hot Break and Mitz are gaining traction with the MZ generation.
The Hot Break Dubai Chewy Cookie Bar, launched in January, surpassed 10 million units in cumulative sales within six months, riding popularity as the snack world's answer to the Dubai chewy cookie trend. The Mitz Yellow Cheese has also generated buzz, drawing more than 1,000 reviews on online communities shortly after its launch, while recipe videos on SNS have racked up 2.2 million views.
The renewed appeal of Hot Break, now in its 41st year, and Mitz, in its 31st, is credited to Orion's quick read of shifting snack trends among consumers in their teens and 20s. Earlier this year, the company overhauled both products — from flavor to packaging — drawing inspiration from the Dubai chewy cookie and yellow cheese crazes that swept the country.
"Our longtime bestsellers are entering a new golden age by adding trendy flavors and a fresh feel," an Orion official said. "We will continue to offer distinctive fun and new experiences."
