LS Electric announced Thursday that it will jointly participate with LS Cable & System in Cigre 2026, the world's largest academic and exhibition event for the power industry, running Saturday through Thursday local time in Paris, France.

Cigre, founded in France in 1921, is the world's foremost academic organization in the field of power systems. It holds a biennial conference in Paris bringing together global power companies and industry experts.

LS Electric will use a 113-square-meter exhibition space to present its vision of a "super grid built by LS," showcasing HVDC solutions, AI data center solutions and direct current (DC) solutions, among others.

HVDC solutions will be a centerpiece of LS Electric's display. Drawing on its experience as the only domestic company to have executed a current-source HVDC project, the company will present a converter transformer (C-TR) alongside grid stabilization solutions — including a static synchronous compensator (STATCOM) — designed to enhance power network stability.

LS Cable & System will present next-generation grid solutions capable of supporting Europe's energy transition and grid modernization, including HVDC submarine and underground cable systems and superconducting cable systems. LS Materials, a subsidiary of LS Cable & System, will exhibit ultracapacitors (UC) as part of its push into the AI data center power infrastructure market.

Europe is emerging as one of the fastest-growing markets for power infrastructure investment alongside North America, driven by aging power infrastructure and energy transition policy. LS Electric and LS Cable & System plan to use the exhibition as a springboard to actively respond to demand for power equipment across Europe.

"We will continue to identify new growth opportunities based on our differentiated technology and project experience in the rapidly changing global power market, and accelerate our push into Europe by maximizing synergies across LS affiliates," an LS Electric official said.

Meanwhile, LS Electric has been introducing its power solutions at various trade shows as part of its broader effort to strengthen its presence in Europe. In June, the company participated in EM-Power 2026, held in Munich, Germany — one of the flagship exhibitions of The Smarter E Europe, the continent's largest energy trade fair.
