Paky completes pilot, readies Gimpo Airport service

HL Robotics, a wholly owned subsidiary of HL Holdings, said Thursday it is moving to expand into the parking and logistics markets, led by its two autonomous robots, Paky and Stan.

Both robots operate fully autonomously but serve different environments. Paky is optimized for indoor parking facilities, while Stan is designed for outdoor spaces such as airports, ports and logistics centers.

HL Robotics plans to combine the two technologies into an integrated automation service linking parking, vehicle transfer, storage and logistics.

Paky is South Korea's first autonomous parking robot. After completing its initial pilot at a content business support center in North Chungcheong Province in September 2025, the company is now preparing to launch a service for visitors at Gimpo Airport.

The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport recently revised enforcement rules under the Parking Lot Act, a move expected to open the residential sector to parking and logistics robots. HL Robotics said Paky will be deployable not only in general parking facilities but also in apartment complexes and parking towers.

Stan is building its global competitiveness, drawing on more than a decade of operational experience at sites including Gatwick Airport in the United Kingdom, Lyon Airport in France and a rail logistics center in Toronto, Canada. In South Korea, the company is in talks with major airports, ports and logistics centers on specific deployment plans.

Designed for outdoor environments, Stan can transport vehicles weighing up to 3 metric tons. After making its domestic debut in July, the robot will be officially unveiled in an updated design with new features at the Intelligent Transport Systems World Congress in Gangneung in October.

HL Robotics acquired French robotics startup Stanley Robotics in 2024. Stan is Stanley Robotics' outdoor autonomous parking robot.

"Domestic market interest in and demand for parking space optimization and vehicle logistics automation are growing rapidly," said Kim Yun-gi, chief executive of HL Robotics. "We will actively create new business opportunities through Paky and Stan."
