The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism will host the 2026 Clean Sport Youth Camp at Pukyong National University's Daeyeon Campus in Busan from Wednesday through Saturday.
Organized with the Korea Anti-Doping Agency (KADA) and the Busan Metropolitan Government, the camp commemorates the 2025 World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) General Assembly — the first held in Asia, which took place in Busan last year — and aims to spread the values of fair sport to the next generation.
A total of 60 young athletes and coaches from seven Asian countries will take part, representing Busan as well as Bhutan, Cambodia, Laos, the Maldives, Sri Lanka and Kuwait. Participants compete in a range of sports including fencing, swimming and athletics.
Several prominent athlete representatives will join the program and share their experiences on career development, self-management and overcoming injury. They include Humphrey Kayange (rugby, Kenya), who serves on both the International Olympic Committee and WADA athlete committees, and Won Yun-jong (bobsled), along with KADA athlete committee members Kim Na-ra (gymnastics), Kim Dong-hyun (para powerlifting/bobsled) and Seo Jeong-hwa (mogul skiing).
Kang Dae-geum, the ministry's sports cooperation officer, called the event "an important occasion to carry forward the successful legacy of the Busan General Assembly, the first of its kind in Asia." He added that the ministry would "actively support student athletes — the leaders of tomorrow — so they can learn and practice the values of fair competition and grow into figures who spread a culture of clean sport around the world."
