Korea Hydro & Nuclear Power Fuel (KHNF) is conducting a safety education program for its employees and Sangju-based partner company staff from Tuesday through Thursday to strengthen on-site safety response capabilities.

The program is designed to help participants grasp the importance of workplace safety firsthand and build the skills needed to respond quickly and appropriately in the event of an accident. The inclusion of partner company staff — regardless of employer — focuses on spreading a safety culture across the entire worksite.

Training is conducted through virtual reality simulations covering 10 types of accidents commonly seen in industrial settings, including falls, entrapment and trips. Participants experience simulated accident scenarios to learn how to identify hazards and respond effectively.

The program also includes hands-on practice in cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and the use of automated external defibrillators (AEDs), giving participants practical skills for initial emergency response.

One partner company representative who attended the training said it was "a great opportunity to take what I only vaguely knew and cement it through direct experience," adding, "I felt how important it is for everyone working in the same space to share the same awareness of safety, regardless of who they work for."

KHNF said it plans to use the program to raise safety awareness among its own staff and partner company members alike, and to further strengthen a field-centered safety culture.
