KG Mobility (KGM) announced Tuesday that it has launched its brand in Myanmar in partnership with Super Seven Stars (SSS) Group, unveiling an eco-friendly vehicle lineup in the country.

The launch event, held Friday in Yangon, drew about 500 attendees, including KGM Chairman Kwak Jae-sun, SSS Group Chairman San Lin and President Salman Lin, who heads the automotive division, along with company officials, journalists and customers.

SSS Group, KGM's local partner, was founded in the early 2000s as Myanmar's first private automaker and remains the country's largest private automotive group. Beyond new and used vehicle sales and electric vehicle charging infrastructure, the conglomerate operates across food, logistics and agriculture.

SSS Group plans to begin full-scale local production and sales of the Torres EVX and Musso EV following the launch. KGM said it aims to supply a total of 1,000 vehicles to the Myanmar market this year through its partnership with SSS Group.

"KGM will grow and develop together in the Myanmar market through close cooperation with SSS Group, so that we can be remembered as an automotive brand that Myanmar customers can trust and choose, and as a company that grows alongside its customers," Kwak said.

Meanwhile, KGM recently secured a strategic investment of about 100 billion won ($70.7 million) from Chery Automobile, China's top vehicle exporter. The two companies plan to expand their cooperation beyond joint SUV development into future industries including software-defined vehicles, autonomous driving, robotics and semiconductors.
