Comedian Kim Sook has sparked controversy after calling out an unnamed celebrity for bad character, with unfounded speculation spreading online about the person's identity.

On Aug. 1, Kim appeared on "Bibo TV," a YouTube channel she co-hosts with comedian Song Eun-i, where she spoke with psychiatrist Lee Gwang-min about human nature and shared her experience with a top star from her past.

"There was this incredibly famous celebrity who was truly awful," she said. "I kept my distance. I thought, 'This person's nature is just rotten.'"

She went on to say that when the celebrity's popularity faded, the person seemed to become kinder, and those around them said they had changed — but she remained unconvinced. "I didn't believe it, because I thought their innate nature was bad," she said, recalling that others had rallied around the celebrity with sympathy.

"But when that celebrity became popular again, the people who hadn't believed me all came back and said, 'Sook, you were right. Their true nature is showing again,'" she added.

Kim did not name the person, but posts speculating about the celebrity's identity quickly spread online. Rumors naming a well-known MC circulated without any supporting evidence, though others pushed back, noting that the MC is close to Kim and has never experienced a dip in popularity.

Concern has grown over the reckless speculation, given that Kim offered no clues whatsoever about who the celebrity might be.
