The PBA Team League's Breakers snapped a nine-game losing streak Thursday with a victory over Hana Card.
On the second day of the Welcome Savings Bank PBA Team League Hwaseong Special City Tour 2026-2027, held at the Hwaseong General Sports Town indoor gymnasium in Hwaseong, Gyeonggi Province, the Breakers defeated Hana Card 4-3 in a full seven sets to end their skid.
The Breakers won their franchise opener this season before dropping eight straight to close out the first round. They then fell 0-4 to Harim in their first second-round match, extending the losing streak to nine.
In the decisive seventh set, with the overall score tied 3-3, Hana Card's Shin Jeong-ju surged ahead 10-3 — one point away from clinching the match. With the team on the brink of a 10th consecutive loss, veteran Lee Seung-jin kept his composure and converted all eight remaining points across five innings to complete a stunning 11-10 comeback and end the streak.
In another match Thursday, Huons dominated first-round champion Woori Financial Capital 4-1 to extend their winning streak to two. After dropping the opening set, Huons swept sets two through five to move into first place.
Crown Haitai and High1 Resort also each won their second straight. Crown Haitai led NH Nonghyup Card 3-0 before dropping three consecutive sets to find themselves in trouble, but team leader Kim Jae-geun delivered a perfect cue — scoring all points in a single inning — in the seventh set to seal the win. High1 Resort led Harim 3-1 before losing sets five and six in a row, yet Im Seong-gyun held on in the seventh set, defeating Tran Duc Minh (Vietnam) 11-9 in six innings to preserve the victory.
SY defeated Welcome Savings Bank 4-3. Trailing 1-3 after four sets, SY mounted a comeback as Mori Yusuke (Japan), Lee Woo-gyeong and Choi Won-jun each won their singles matches in sets five, six and seven to complete the turnaround.
