First hybrid SV built on V12 Revuelto platform

'PHEV is not a transitional technology,' CEO says

Stephan Winkelmann, chairman and CEO of Automobili Lamborghini, made those remarks at an online press conference on July 13, introducing the Revuelto SV — Lamborghini's first hybrid SV model. Winkelmann said the battery raises the car's performance ceiling while significantly enhancing the sensory experience for the driver.
The Revuelto SV is Lamborghini's first hybrid Super Veloce model. The SV designation traces back to the 1971 Miura SV and represents the brand's highest-performance lineup — a top-tier version that pursues greater power and driving character than the standard model.
Developed from the Revuelto, Lamborghini's V12 hybrid super sports car, the SV version optimizes everything from aerodynamics to the drivetrain. It pairs a 6.5-liter naturally aspirated V12 engine with three electric motors in a plug-in hybrid system, producing 1,065 hp — 50 hp more than the standard Revuelto — and 1,425 Nm of torque. The car accelerates from zero to 100 kph in 2.4 seconds and to 200 kph in 6.7 seconds, with a top speed exceeding 345 kph.
"The battery makes it possible to achieve torque distribution and delivery that would be difficult to realize with a combustion engine alone," Winkelmann said. "The biggest change is not simply going faster, but elevating the vehicle's responsiveness and driving feel to a new level."
Lamborghini describes the Revuelto SV not as a car built for a power competition, but as a realization of what it calls "the quantum of driving." The company says it has maximized the connection between driver and machine through a new battery system, adjustable suspension developed using GT3 racing technology, CCM-R Plus carbon-ceramic brakes and a dedicated Pilota driving mode.
The Pilota mode is activated via a dedicated dial on the steering wheel and applies a five-stage traction control system derived from GT3 race car development. It is designed to fine-tune vehicle behavior in response to road conditions, tire wear and the driver's skill level.
Winkelmann said customers, not the company, will ultimately determine Lamborghini's direction in the age of electrification. "What matters is not whether we are ready, but when the customer wants that technology," he said. "We already have the capability to develop the latest electrification technology, but we will bring it to market when customers are ready to embrace it."
Lamborghini had originally planned to develop a fully electric vehicle but revised its strategy toward plug-in hybrids in response to market conditions. "PHEV is not simply a transitional technology," Winkelmann said. "It is an important technology that lets us preserve the character of the V12 engine while adding the benefits of new technology."
He added that technology must evolve in a way that preserves the brand's character and must be delivered when customers want it. "Autonomous driving is also an important technology, but Lamborghini customers do not buy our cars because they want autonomous driving," he said.
Customer deliveries of the Revuelto SV in Asia, including South Korea, are scheduled to begin in the second half of 2027. Winkelmann said the exact launch timeline would be announced at a later date.
