The Korea Creative Content Agency announced Thursday it will hold the "Korea Indie Game Showcase" in conjunction with major game exhibitions in the second half of the year to expand the global reach of outstanding domestic indie games.
The showcase was created to promote the achievements of Korean indie games and provide wide-ranging support for their entry into overseas markets. The agency supports participation in leading domestic and international indie game exhibitions, covering the entire journey from development through launch and global expansion.
The agency will run the "2026 Korea Indie Game Showcase in BIC" at BIC 2026, held at Bexco in Busan from Friday through Sunday, presenting five carefully selected Korean indie games: "Geunal-ui Sinmun" by Diving Studio, "Light Odyssey" by Sun Games, "Bellaster" by Odysseyer, "Net Raiders" by Oblicon and "Lone Chef" by Project Morum.
The agency will then set up a joint Korean pavilion within the business-to-consumer exhibition hall at Gamescom 2026 in Cologne, Germany, from Aug. 26 to 30, running the "2026 Korea Indie Game Showcase in Gamescom." The pavilion will offer broad support for exhibition, business consultations and local promotion to actively back the games' entry into overseas markets.
Ten Korean indie games will meet players from around the world at the joint Korean pavilion at Gamescom 2026: "Project Revenant" by Mayfly, "Dungeon Settlers" by Scan Opener, "Monowave" by Studio BBB, "Halchemist" by Steam Flask, "Irony" by Xylophone, "Blackout: Zero Point" by Outdoor Unit Operation, "Hellpunk: Purgatorium" by Urban Oasis, "The Planetarian" by Yeop Studio, "Katuba's Poacher" by Joyou Studio and "Lone Chef" by Project Morum.
In addition, a "2026 Korea Indie Game Showcase" is scheduled for December, where the 20 finalists from the agency's indie game development competition, the Korea Indie Game Dev Camp, will be presented.
Kim Seong-jun, head of the agency's Game New Technology Division, said he hopes the events, tied to major indie game exhibitions in the second half of the year, will give outstanding Korean indie games a chance to communicate directly with users, sharpen their competitiveness and solidify a foundation for overseas expansion. "We will continue to provide multifaceted support tailored to the characteristics of each event so that domestic indie game developers can achieve tangible results in overseas markets," he added.
