Baek Jong-won, CEO of The Born Korea, has announced plans to expand the company's sauce business overseas.

On Wednesday (local time), Baek visited Oshigye, a Korean restaurant in Los Angeles, where he introduced menu items using TBK sauces and discussed product supply and recipe application with staff.

The visit was aimed at broadening the company's overseas outreach beyond food and retail companies to include local restaurant operators.

After reviewing the kitchen setup and cooking staff at the restaurant, Baek proposed sauces and standardized recipes suited to local operating conditions.

The Born Korea said it is also in talks with companies in the United States and Thailand on supplying and distributing TBK sauces, and is exploring the possibility of signing MOUs with them before the end of the year.

TBK sauces are business-to-business products developed to help overseas operators reproduce the flavors of hansik easily and consistently. The lineup comprises 11 varieties, including kimchi powder sauce, seasoned chicken sauce and galbi marinade sauce.
