Lotte Mart and Lotte Super announced Thursday the launch of Tasty Premium, a new upscale tier within their private-label Tasty wine series.

Tasty Premium introduces wines from world-renowned growing regions at accessible prices, extending the range into premium categories that had previously been out of reach for many shoppers due to cost.

The initial lineup features two wines from California's Napa Valley — a red and a white. Napa Valley is one of the United States' most prestigious wine-producing regions. The Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon is characterized by rich fruit flavors and a full body, while the Napa Valley Chardonnay offers a smooth texture and balanced acidity. Both wines will also be available as gift sets ahead of the chuseok holiday.

The two wines are sold at all Lotte Mart and Bottle Bunker locations and at the Lotte Super Grand Grocery Dogok store, priced at 34,900 won ($25) and 32,900 won, respectively. The retailer leveraged the combined sourcing capabilities of Lotte Mart and Lotte Super to sharpen competitiveness — consolidated procurement enabled economies of scale, while its liquor merchandising team worked directly with local wineries to cut costs and margins incurred during the import and retail distribution process.

Meanwhile, Lotte Mart and Lotte Super have been advancing a wine-democratization initiative since 2023, building the Tasty series to its current lineup of 18 products. The range has expanded from California to include New Zealand's Marlborough and France's Burgundy, among other regions. The series also includes Tasty Simple, an entry-level line priced below 5,000 won, as well as large-format value products. Cumulative sales surpassed 400,000 bottles through June this year, with first-half sales up approximately 175 percent year on year.
