Aston Martin announced Wednesday it will participate in Monterey Car Week on the Monterey Peninsula in California, where it will unveil three special limited-edition models for the first time.
At the event, Q by Aston Martin will debut a set of three DB12 S models — created as a matching trio — to honor the racing heritage of the Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance.
This year's event shines a spotlight on early-1950s sports cars, the racing icons of that era and the evolution of performance design. Through that lens, the Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance will showcase its distinctive identity, where motorsport heritage meets the world's finest collector car culture.
In 1951, the Aston Martin racing team entered three DB2 race cars bearing British registration plates with the letters "VMF," each distinguished by a differently colored front grille. The vehicles were originally built for the 1950 24 Hours of Le Mans and went on to compete in various races through the early 1950s, fielded by both the official Aston Martin works team and private entrants.
Drawing inspiration from those three original DB2 "VMF" cars, Aston Martin is presenting a new DB12 S coupe collection — a specially crafted tribute marking the 75th Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance, created 75 years on.
The three models — VMF 63 with Rosso Red color accents, VMF 64 with Speed Yellow details and VMF 65 with Elwood Blue highlights — are finished with an array of bespoke details by Q by Aston Martin, honoring the racing heritage of Pebble Beach.
Each car wears a Carbon Black exterior, set apart by colored front grille vanes, a "75" fender roundel graphic and color-finished carbon fiber side strakes. At the rear, a color-finished carbon fiber aeroblade and a DB2 foil overlay complete the look.
Inside, each model features contrast stitching and an Aston Martin wings logo in keeping with its color theme, a DB2 silhouette embroidery on the front seat backs and a "75" roundel graphic on the rear seat backs.
Vittorio Gava, head of Q by Aston Martin, said it was "a great honor for the whole team to have the opportunity to create bespoke models for such a special occasion." He added that he hoped the models would serve as "a fitting tribute to the Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance, an event that has established itself as one of the world's premier automotive gatherings."
Beyond the reveal of the three DB12 S tribute models, Aston Martin will host a range of programs during Monterey Car Week, including "Astons on the Avenue" on Ocean Avenue in Carmel-by-the-Sea, California.
Andrea Baldi, Aston Martin's chief commercial officer, said Monterey Car Week was "the perfect stage" to unveil the special DB12 S "VMF" models marking the 75th Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance. "These models not only pay homage to the event's early racing heritage, but also celebrate Aston Martin's legacy through the Vanquish 25 special edition here in Monterey — the heart of luxury automotive culture — while showcasing the brand's dynamic, forward-looking vision," he said.
Meanwhile, Aston Martin has been broadening its customer reach through various marketing activities, including the recent unveiling of the Top Time B01 Chronograph 41 Aston Martin DB5 Tribute Edition, a timepiece created in collaboration with Swiss watchmaker Breitling.
The watch draws inspiration from Aston Martin's iconic classic car, the DB5, and marks the first collaborative timepiece since the two companies announced their partnership earlier this year.
