Sangmidang Holdings announced Wednesday that it is donating a total of 25,500 bottles of water to communities hit hard by the ongoing heat wave, in partnership with the Haengbokan Foundation.

The Haengbokan Foundation, acting on a request from the Korean Red Cross, will distribute the water across five regions: Seoul, Gyeonggi Province, Incheon, Gangwon Province and North Gyeongsang Province. The Korean Red Cross will then channel the supplies to areas most in need through its heat-wave relief operations.

"We hope this support offers even a small measure of relief to those struggling in the intense heat," a company official said. "We will continue to actively step up wherever help is needed."

Sangmidang Holdings has worked with the Korean Red Cross to provide relief supplies and donations during national disasters and emergencies. Last July and August, the company donated a total of 28,000 relief items — including bread and bottled water — to communities in the Chungcheong, Honam, South Gyeongsang Province and Jeolla regions affected by heavy rainfall. In 2024, it also delivered bread and water to flood-hit areas in Andong, North Gyeongsang Province, and Iksan, North Jeolla Province.
